| Live on the Park with KATALYST |
| Sunday June 25 at the former Pizza on the Park venue in London’s Knightsbridge marks the start of a UK tour and the London debut of an exciting contemporary jazz unit KATALYST, featuring the young American singer Katherine Gang. Led by composer, arranger and broadcaster Richard Niles, KATALYST combines an eclectic mixture of talent into an exciting evening; a unique look at standards and original material. Many of Europe’s top musicians and music business ‘suits’ are now beginning to talk about the Berklee College of Music graduate Gang and her mentor Niles – also a Berklee alumni – and the recent music they have produced together. A new album, Laughing At Lonely, has just been released, and the evening will feature much of that material as well as their unique arrangements of jazz standards. Augmented by the talented keyboard player Clive Dunstall, bass player Rob Rickenberg and with Chris Dagley on drums, the music is a fusion of jazz, pop, latin and contemporary rock. The band will also be playing London’s Vortex two days later on 27 June, with the addition of internationally acclaimed pianist Gary Husband. |
